Moringa Oleifera Seeds

The Moringa tree is one of the most useful plants in the world. The moringa tree is grown mainly in semiarid, tropical, and subtropical areas, corresponding in the United States to USDA hardiness zones 9 and 10. While it grows best in dry, sandy soil, it tolerates poor soil, including coastal areas. It is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree that is native to the southern foothills of the Himalayas in northwestern India that can be grown in a greenhouse or containers.

Many parts of the moringa are edible. The immature seed pods, leaves, mature seeds, oil, and roots can be eaten. The flowers are edible when cooked and are said to taste like mushrooms.

Germination Instructions

For best results keep your seeds around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. It generally takes around two weeks for germination, but they grow incredibly fast!

  1. Soak seeds in water overnight.
  2. Plant 2-3 seeds per pot.
  3. Water pot every 2-3 days.
  4. If left undisturbed, the seeds should sprout in 1-2 weeks.
