The GP 5 Gallon UV Water Sterilizer was invented by Garden Pool’s Dennis McClung. McClung was inspired by the Garden Pool Haiti project, where local water sources were contaminated by Cholera. While this design was motivated by the need to provide clean water for volunteers and residents in Haiti, its applications are global.
The Garden Pool water sterilizer design offers many essential benefits to those in water crisis situations. This point-of-use, modular design is proven clinically effective. UVC Germicidal Sterilization uses 20,000 times less energy than boiling water, is safe, leaves no taste, and uses no chemicals!
The GP 5 Gallon UV Water Sterilizer attaches to a standard 5 gallon bucket and sterilizes the water in 15 minutes. The sterilization process is chemical-free and operates using a built-in, rechargeable lithium-ion power supply. The GP 5 Gallon UV Water Sterilizer can sterilize over 50 gallons of water before needing to be recharged. The sterilizer is recharged with built-in solar panels, 12 Volt DC power, or an 120 Volt AC adapter. This technology’s convenient power supply does not require a sophisticated energy infrastructure to operate; the convenient power supply can recharge cell phones, tablets, or USB powered devices. Additionally, the built-in LED lighting system can serve as a portable and sustainable lantern.
The GP water sterilizer is ready to be replicated and delivered—that’s where you come in. Your donations will aid: hiring assistance for product manufacturing, procuring product materials and product manufacturing, transporting products and materials.
Most importantly, your donation will ensure clean drinking water where it is needed most.
