Did you know that GP has a library full of seeds of all types of edible plants and herbs at the GP Research Center? Well, we are currently working to bring our collection to the public by opening a Seed Library at participating public libraries!
We are proud to announce that Mesa Public Library has partnered with GP to open our first full-time public seed library! More info about the Seed Library at Mesa Public Library, go here: http://gardenpool.org/gp-library/seed-library-at-mesa-public-library
Garden Pool is also opening a Seed Library at Huntington Beach, California. For more info go here: http://gardenpool.org/gp-library/seed-library-at-huntington-beach-public-library
Garden Pool provides a pre-packaged and cataloged collection of seeds to fill old card catalogs. Library patrons checkout seed packs with the public libraries and will return saved seeds from the first harvest. GP volunteers, known as Seed Librarians, will check on the seed library weekly to refill inventory and process donated seeds. Garden Pool will also provide quality education to the public to help every local gardener’s garden grow to be a productive success!
We need plenty of volunteers to make this happen. If you are interested in volunteering, go here: http://gardenpool.org/volunteer
Garden Pool also gladly accepts donated seeds! Garden Pool is a federally recognized public charity, so your donations are fully tax-deductible. If you have seeds that you would like to donate to a worthy cause in the community, contact GP: http://gardenpool.org/contact-gp
